RA
Residents' Assembly
The body consisting of all registered adult residents of Auroville who are officially entered in the register of residents. This is one of the three main authorities of the Auroville Foundation established by the Auroville Foundation Act.
RAS
Residents' Assembly Service
A service group that supports the functioning of the Residents' Assembly by organizing meetings, facilitating decision-making processes, conducting selections for working groups, and serving as a communication channel between residents and working groups.
RAD
Residents' Assembly Decision
The official process through which the Residents' Assembly makes collective decisions. It involves community meetings, proposal refinement, feedback collection, and voting.
ERAD
Emergency Resident's Assembly Decision
A meeting organized as part of the decision-making process where proposals are presented, discussed, and refined before going to a community-wide vote. These meetings are specifically part of the RAD process.
RAM
Residents' Assembly Meeting
A meeting organized as part of the decision-making process where proposals are presented, discussed, and refined before going to a community-wide vote. These meetings are specifically part of the RAD process.
GM
General Meeting
A community meeting that can be called by any resident or group to share information or discuss topics, but is not formally part of a decision-making process.
RS
Residents' Service (Former)
Often confused with the RAS, the Residents' Service was the service that managed the database of residents' data. It has now been turned into Visa Service by the Foundation Office
