The Decision
The approved decision was to implement the revised Selection Process proposal for the Working Committee, Auroville Council, FAMC, Entry Board, and ATDC.
What Does This Decision Mean?
This decision establishes a new methodology for selecting members of Auroville's five major working groups. The "Participatory Working Groups" selection process replaces the previous selection system and introduces a more structured approach to how community members are chosen to serve in governance roles.
The approved process includes the following key components:
A random selection of community members who will form selection teams
A transparent feedback mechanism on candidates from the community
Training for selection team members before they begin their work
Independent teams that work separately to make selections
A consensus-based approach with fallback mechanisms when needed
A system to ensure continuity through staggered turnover of members
